All members of Birmingham UK HOG must first be members of HOG

All members of Birmingham HOG are full members, and as such have equal access to benefits. rights and responsibilities.

All members of Birmingham UK HOG are welcome, and indeed encouraged, to bring guests to events.

Birmingham HOG run 3 types of event:

1. Open event- members can bring unlimited guests.

2. Closed event - members can bring one guest, and direct family members such as partners/spouses and children. Children are may be excluded from certain age restricted events, but these will be rare and will be notified as such.

3. Members only event - no guests allowed

All members are allowed to bring guests to Birmingham HOG events, as long as they comply with the following:

Have made the guests known to the event organiser

Have signed the disclaimer

Agree to be responsible for their guests

Ensure that their guests have fun, but conduct themselves in an appropriate manner befitting a family orientated organisation at all times

Where a guest is also riding it is the members’ responsibility to ensure that their guest understands our riding policy, and asks the guest to spend a few minutes with a Road Captain.

The Road Captain will go through our riding policy and then ask the guest to sign a disclaimer. If they do not sign a disclaimer and agree to abide by our riding policy then they will not be able to ride with us.

A riding guest should, in normal circumstances, be limited to 2 rides per season. If they want to ride more than 2 times with the Chapter then they should be asked to become a member in their own right.

Guests’ attendance at riding events will be recorded by the Road Captain leading the ride and reviewed on a monthly basis by the Head Road Captain.
